New Home Construction in Waldorf, MD Autumn Hills Subdivision

Autumn Hills Waldorf Entrance Sign     Waldorf, MD has a lot of new home construction developments, and one of them is the Autumn Hills Subdivision, located off of Smallwood Drive, just a stone's throw from the St. Charles Towne Center Mall.

There are two different builders in that community:  Ryan Homes, who has subdivisions and developments all over the Southern Maryland region, and Craftmark Homes.

The Ryan Homes there are starting at $340k, and the Craftmark Homes are starting at $550k.  What's nice about this community (aside from the proximity to the mall and shopping) is that all of the homes here are brick or stone front.

Craftmark Homes Model in Waldorf, MD     Some of the lots are a little tight, but the homes are gorgeous!  I currently have had a home listed in this subdivision, and the property was stunning!  Between the hardwood floors, Granite counters, Sun-room, Finished Basement and Finished Attic, there's almost 7,000 square feet of living space!  It's an excellent example of just how big the high-end Craftmark homes are.

Craftmark is building bigger than Ryan is (hence the higher price tags), but either builder is providing great looking homes in a great location!

If you're interested in possibly buying here, or in any other subdivision, our new construction experts can help you to negotiate a great deal AND protect your interests when purchasing a new home!  Give us a call or email to get the low-down on New Construction in Charles County, P.G. County, or St. Mary's County!

Waldorf, MD's Mall: St. Charles Town Center Improvements!

Waldorf_3     I digress, I haven't been impressed with the mall here in Charles County recently.  One of the reasons is because they have been doing a lot of renovation work on it, and navigating through a maze of cones and equipment isn't exactly my cup of tea.

It looks like they're getting close to finishing their work, so I stopped by to take a couple of pictures and see what the changes look like.

In short, I think the modernization project looks great!  Waldorf deserves a first rate shopping location like this, and they've done a fine job!

What Have They Done?

What's exciting about the changes is the growth of O'Donnell Lake, where the are several restaurants going in, and a Hilton hotel, among other things.  It's all part of the larger growth plan for Waldorf, and it improves the accessibility of the area and the overall quality of life for the region and residents.

Sushi_bar_4     It makes Waldorf and Charles County a better place to live, and it helps to bolster the incentive to buy real estate in Waldorf to enjoy the feature the area has to offer.  Since I live in Waldorf myself, I'm always excited to see new project that make this a more attractive and exciting place to live.

New Place To Eat In Waldorf!

Not only that, but there's also a Sushi Bar that has been opened in the mall!  You see, I crave sushi.  I don't think so much about the whole raw fish aspect, because in and of itself, that's kind of gross.  I do love the flavor, though, and I don't get to eat it often enough.  Hopefully this will help me expand my list of choice places to get good sushi in Charles County.  Right now that list is empty, so something's better than nothing, right?

He's getting the attention he wanted!

I was at St. Charles Towne Center Mall yesterday, and I typically make it a point to avoid shopping anywhere on weekends because of the crowds.  I figure that if my hours are flexible enough, I can get my errands done during the week and there's no reason to wait in long lines and contribute to the weekend throngs.

At any rate, I had no choice but to be at the mall on Saturday.  I ran into a woman there at the food court who was disciplining her son.  Now, before you get all worked up, she wasn't beating him, or yelling, or even talking to him for that matter.  Apparently he had gotten in trouble at school, so she created a punishment that she felt fit the crime.  She dragged his butt down to the mall and made him stand there in the food court all day long holding a sign that said:Mallkid

"Please pray for me, I misbehaved in school."

His mother said that he was acting up in school because he wanted the attention, and she was through with his antics.  Well, he DEFINATELY got the attention, and I'm sure more than a few of his friends ran into him that day (This was Saturday, after all, and she had apparently been there since morning).  I wonder if this will help solve the problem?  At the very least it's a highly creative method of punishment, and I'm sure the young man will be thinking twice before he decides to embarass his parents (and himself!) by acting up again!
